Abonded housing estates and people are a constantly rising problem in our society. Citties such as Buenos Aires and more are fancing strong ghettoing and slumifications. Brickland, thats how they call the abonded place, it’s also the name of Constanza Macras show, in cooperation with the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. With help and motives of abstract modern dance and dadism Constanza creates a beautiful and eye-catching dance perfomance, inwhich A place surrounded by surveillance cameras and protected against the violence of the cities. We must understand this place not as a concrete one, but as a symbol for a multitude of other cities in the globalized world that are basically interchangeable: We are referring to so-called „gated communities“ as we find them in the USA, in South America, in India or in China.
