Awka’s techno-shamanic performance focuses on the analysis of the displacement of the Lafkenche people from the north to the south, examining the forced displacements of ancestral communities caused by extractivism. This work also addresses liminal experiences, human nature and existence in marginal territories. The relationship between bodies and memory sites is an essential axis in this research. „Transmutaciones Lafkenche“ is configured as a performative exploration of these dimensions, establishing a dialogue between expanded bodily knowledge and various forms of ancestral wisdom. At the end of the sunset, the work invites participants to a dance with memory, promoting the embodiment of its mobile and itinerant nature and fostering connection and humanization through active remembering and critical reflection.

Aukanaw Campos/Awka is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans performance creation, stage direction, and playwriting. His artistic practice integrates scenic creation, visual arts, photography, new media, architecture, and design, resulting in immersive and provocative works that explore heritage, somatic practices, rituals, and film performance.
