Stage Technical Manager
The international dance and theater company Constanza Macras / Dorky Park, based in Berlin, is looking for a Stage Technical Manager for our tours and productions on a project-based freelance basis.
Constanza Macras / Dorky Park produces on average 2-3 productions and special projects per year and tours nationally and internationally for guest performances and festivals.
The Stage Technical Manager position includes the following tasks:
• Overseeing the technical execution of rehearsals and performances.
• Preparing and reviewing technical riders.
• Reviewing technical information provided by venues (stage plans, equipment lists) and ensuring that venue conditions meet the production’s technical requirements.
• Coordinating logistics, transport, and packing lists for stage elements, props, and costumes.
• Coordinating technical set-ups at guest venues and supervising the assembly and dismantling of stage elements and technical equipment.
• Collaborating with venue technical teams during tours and performances.
• Identifying, reporting, and resolving technical issues in cooperation with the production team and venue staff.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Professional experience as a Stage Technical Manager, Stage Assistant, Stage Technician, or in a comparable technical role within theatre, dance, or the performing arts.
• A qualification in theatre, stage, or event technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in coordinating technical operations for rehearsals, performances, and touring productions.
• Experience in reading and preparing technical riders, stage plans, and venue documentation.
• Experience coordinating safe technical operations, including risk assessment processes and compliance with venue safety requirements.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• A Class B driving licence (desirable).
• Fluent English; German is highly desirable.
