JOB DESCIPTION: PRODUCER
The international dance and theatre company Constanza Macras / Dorkypark, based in Berlin Lichtenberg, is looking for a new producer (m/f/d) in a full-time position.
The company produces an average of 2-3 productions and other special projects (symposia, lectures, open rehearsals, etc.) per year, while touring nationally and internationally for guest performances and festivals. The productions are mainly developed in Berlin, but also abroad by invitation.
In cooperation with the artistic director/management, the production management and the production office, you will ensure professional planning and realisation of our artistic productions, guest performances and special projects. Together with the production management, you will organise all work processes necessary for implementation as well as contribute in the application, acquisition and accounting of institutional funding.
Your tasks:
– Planning, implementing and controlling the production processes of new productions,
revivals, guest performances and special projects;
– Project-related application, acquisition and accounting of funding;
– budgeting, contract negotiation and administration, accounting and preparation of
and preparation of proofs of use for the projects;
– Communication with artists, venues, theatres, workshops, logistics companies, cooperation partners and co-producers;
– Networking and exchange with local, regional and international production houses and networks, artists, producers, groups and organisers.
– Distributing the Company productions on national and international level
– communication with cooperation partners and funding bodies, including the Berlin Senate
– Networking and maintaining political and institutional contacts
Your profile:
– Work experience in a cultural context, preferably in the field of contemporary dance / performance / theatre
– Fluent in written and spoken English and German, other languages desirable
(company language is English)
– Good knowledge of artistic, (stage) technical as well as accounting/commercial processes
– Experience in budgeting, acquisition and accounting for subsidies
– Knowledge of the structure of independent production venues as well as national and international funding structures
– Communication, negotiation and organisational skills
